| Description: | Designed a wooden bridge to replace a concrete bridge on an Avenue over a Town Creek as a timber bridge demonstration project funded 80% by FHA through VDOT. Prepared construction plans and specifications for a glue laminated, longitudinal timber, stress laminated treated wood bridge superstructure to be set on existing concrete bridge abutments. The original bridge was built in 1928 and was removed due to deterioration of the concrete and reinforcing steel. |
