Description:
|
An Energy Conservation Survey was performed. The total annual savings opportunities identified during the survey were $38,300.
The Client was a yarn manufacturing facility. The primary equipment included opening, carding, drawing, and open end spinning. Energy utilization for the plant included compressed air, water, and electricity.
The review of energy opportunities included a compressed air generation and distribution system review, a lighting evaluation, a HVAC evaluation, and a plant walk-through to identify other energy opportunities.
The following primary opportunities were identified and may be accomplished through utilization of plant maintenance resources:
• Reduction of compressed air leaks;
• Performance of electrical rate analysis;
• Elimination of lighting;
• Improvement of air washers; and
• Elimination of energized idle equipment.
The following additional opportunity was identified which will require capital investment:
• Installation of motion sensors and lighting compensators
Another recommendation was to establish a formal energy conservation program.
