Project Details

Project Name: Waste Load Allocation (WLA) Model
Country: USA
Description: A mathematical water quality model was developed to project waste load allocation for client's plant discharge into a nearby river. The model predicts the waste assimilation capacity (WAC) of the portion of the river impacted by the client's WWTP effluent. After configuration and calibration, the water quality model was used as a basis for both process design and negotiating regulatory permit requirements. As a result of the model, discharge limits were increased to be compatible with the receiving streams assimilative capacity. This resulted in significant operating cost savings.
