| Description: | The client's Virginia facility utilizes several processes that result in batch discharge of wastewater to the local POTW. Retained in order to ensure compliance with their pretreatment permit limitations, and to evaluate treatment technologies. Conducted laboratory treatability studies to define treatment process requirements and to provide recommendations for facility modifications. Evaluated chemical precipitation, chemical coagulation and membrane filtration for removal of problem pollutants. Based on the data provided, these pollutants included: BOD, copper, nickel, zinc, oil & grease, TSS and pH. These parameters were evaluated on raw samples and on samples following treatment. Based on the results, treatment recommendations and preliminary cost estimates were provided. The feasibility and limitations for the wastewater recycle were also evaluated. |
