Project Details

Project Name: Soil Sampling
Country: None Listed
Description: Inspections, done earlier, of a VA property indicated that the previous company had conducted activities on the property that had the potential to result in contamination to the property. Primary areas of concern were: the subsurface discharge of contaminated water from the test area; painting activities conducted outdoors, leakage of hydraulic fluids from equipment operated outdoors, and the hazardous waste storage area. In order to assess the extent of any potential environmental impact, the property owner wanted soil sampling and analyses conducted. The following services were provided: visited the VA site; -utilized a magnetic locator to attempt to locate the terminus of the metal discharge pipe used for the subsurface discharge of contaminated water from the test area; -collected a soil sample from the area and depth of the discharge point; -collected a soil sample from the area where painting activities are conducted outdoors; -collected a soil sample from the area where hazardous waste is stored; -collected a soil sample from the area where hydraulic equipment is operated outdoors; -submitted all of the collected samples for laboratory analyses (full TCLP, BTEX, PCB, TPH, moisture, TOX); -prepared a report that summarized the sampling and results.
