Project Name: Assembled Project Permit Applications
Country: None Listed
Description: The client's plant is a meat processing facility located in Michigan. The plant processes turkey, beef and some pork products. Emissions of several air toxics result from meat smoking operations at several of the ovens which require permitting under Rule 230 as defined by Michigan Air Toxic Regulations (April 17, 1992). Contracted to determine the current compliance status of the facility and to correct any non-compliance issues. A review of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources files and a site visit revealed several ovens and a boiler which were unpermitted and several permits which required modification. Permit applications and documentation were assembled and submitted to the client for review. This facility is a Title V source because the boiler is subject to NSPS standards. The facility is not a major source as defined by annual emissions, therefore, their permitting will not be necessary for several years.
